Abstract expressionist image of light and form

Glenn Wakeford is a photographer based in London, focussing on abstractions, landscapes, and other project work.

Diagnosed with ASD as an adult just before the COVID-19 lockdown, Glenn is using abstract expressionism as an outlet for processing and articulating emotions and experiences. Abstraction provides them with the ability to express complex, difficult, or overwhelming experiences that would otherwise be difficult to explain.

Glenn’s abstract creations frequently examine the interplay of light and colour, the detail of form and shape, and how these elements can be used to drastically alter our perceptions of our personally experienced realities.

Their landscapes concentrate on intimate scenes found in woodlands and on coastlines, exploring themes of stillness and movement, while using the environment to explore and recharge in solitude.
